Where Nissan x-trail is assembled for our market. Nissan: who is the manufacturer? In which countries are spare parts for Nissan cars produced, factories in Russia

The Russians are familiar with the cars of the Japanese Nissan brand; this technique is highly popular and popular with the people. In addition, for many Nissan cars, Russia is the country of origin. Generally, Japanese company founded several factories around the world:

  • manufacturing facility in Sunderland (UK);
  • Japanese plant;
  • a large company Nissan Manufacturing Rus is located in St. Petersburg;
  • the AvtoVAZ plant is located in Togliatti, which began producing cars from Nissan after merging with Renault.

Which models can boast of Russian assembly? What cars are supplied to Russia from other countries? These questions will concern us today.

Assembly site Nissan Almera Classic

This model has been produced since 1995, it is one of the oldest models, which is successfully sold on the territory of the Russian Federation. This budget model was launched in Tolyatti in 2012. Not everyone liked this decision of the company, because the army of Almera fans thinned out significantly. AvtoVAZ assembly had a number of drawbacks that many did not want to put up with.

As for the Korean version of Nissan Almera classic, then it was assembled in South Korea at the Samsung plant. This lasted until 2013. Where is it collected Nissan Almera figured out, it's time to move on to other, no less interesting and iconic models.

Place of assembly Qashqai

Better selling crossover than Nissan qashqai just doesn't exist. The sales of this car are breaking all records. The assembly of the Nissan Qashqai was launched in 2007. Up to this point, more than 2 million copies. With the release of each new generation, vehicle dimensions increase, weight decreases and efficiency increases.

This model is not produced in Russia. Where, then, is Nissan Qashqai assembled and from where is it supplied to the Russian market? This process is established in the UK. From here, cars are delivered to the European and Russian markets. True, a limited number of modifications are offered to the attention of the Russians. This applies, for example, gasoline units- other options are not offered to the Russian user.

Teana build site

The niche of full-size cars on Russian market until 2003 was defective. Everything changed after graduation Nissan teana, which was originally going to Japan. Then this process migrated to St. Petersburg and the national market was already flooded with models of domestic assembly. Among the countries that produce Nissan Teana, there are also Japan and Thailand. These cars are not supplied to Russia.

Juke build location

Nissan Juke - a car for women

Interesting and unusual is the Nissan Juke. Its appearance in 2010 shook the public and caused a mixed reaction. The fans of such cars are representatives of the younger generation and female drivers. They love the unusual design of the car, the interesting placement of the grips, and the stunning design of the optics. Are you already wondering where the Nissan Juke is assembled? This process has been established in Japan and the UK. Unfortunately, or, on the contrary, fortunately, Nissan Juke is not assembled in Russia. Therefore, the Russians have to be content, which does not greatly upset them.

Micra assembly site

In 2003, Nissan set new standards in the small car niche with the launch of the new Micra. Even after so much time, the Micra remains the best in its class. Let not everyone agree with this opinion, but it will be difficult for everyone to resist good equipment, economy and low cost. This model is not assembled at any of the Russian factories. The Russians are supplied with such cars from Britain.

Place of assembly Note

Since 2006, there has probably not been a more popular family car than the Note. Even now, 13 years later, this model remains popular and relevant. After all the changes and modifications, the modern Nissan note has become more environmentally friendly and safer. These two criteria are fundamental when choosing a family car.

This miracle of technology is assembled at a British plant already known to us. From here, cars are delivered to the markets of three continents at once, including the territory of Russia.

Place of assembly Tiida

In 2007, the Russians saw a cool budget model that seriously competed with many copies in this price range. Tiida is available for the Russian user. Where is Nissan Tiida assembled for Russia? You will be surprised, but this process is well established in Mexico. This model takes the longest to reach its potential buyer. Although for other countries and continents, the car is supplied from Japan and Thailand.

X-Trail assembly site

Nissan X-Trail is legendary, which was able to push back such rating cars as Honda cr-v, Santa Fe from Hyundai and Kia sorento... No one has yet succeeded in creating a better one. Despite its long history, Nissan's X-Trail is even today the best and most popular. Each new generation impresses with internal and external changes.

In this car, practicality, spaciousness of the trunk and smart filling are appreciated, which is aimed at making the driver's life easier and increasing the comfort of using the car. And everything would be fine if the Russian assembly did not spoil this picture. For a long time Nissan X-Trail collected in Russia, recently even in St. Petersburg they began to produce this iconic car. Until 2009, machines of domestic and Japanese assembly were supplied to the Russian market, which allowed the buyer to choose between economy and first-class quality.

Murano assembly site

The Nissan Murano is as luxurious as the BMW X5, sporty, with a unique body shape and affordable compared to other similar models. Nissan Murano is assembled both in Russia (St. Petersburg) and in Japan. Both options are supplied to the Russian market, so you can choose between affordability and Japanese ideal quality.

Place of assembly Pathfinder

Full-size crossovers often attract not by their cross-country ability, but by their size, high power and status. This is the trend in the global market. The Nissan Pathfinger is assembled for just such occasions. We do not want to hint at its low permeability, because it is not. But on such a car you really do not want to travel on dirty roads and pave new roads.

The release of this handsome man began back in 1984, despite this fact, the latest generation demonstrates. Pathfinder costs nothing to plug such solid models as Land rover Discovery and Prado from Toyota. And yet, let's return to the main issue that worries us most of all today - where are they collected? Nissan pathfinder... Previously, the car was supplied to the Russian market from Spain. With the onset of 2014, the St. Petersburg plant began to assemble this iconic model.

Place of assembly Patrol and Navara

Every year it becomes more and more difficult to find a real SUV. Crossovers that seduce with beauty and practicality are more appreciated. The Patrol is a real, tough car that can withstand any conditions, ready to overcome difficult obstacles. The main advantage of this model is the Japanese assembly. So far, the company is not going to spoil such a copy of Russian production.

Navara stands out among the pickups. This model is famous and expressive. The manufacturer rarely pampers us with updated versions, but that is why this model does not become less popular and interesting. A pickup truck is delivered to the territory of the Russian Federation from Spain, which can also be considered as an advantage. Spain is certainly not Japan, but it is also a good option.

We reviewed many models produced by the Japanese automobile concern Nissan. We hope you find this information useful.

Where are Nissans collected?

Nissan cars are one of the most popular among motorists in Russia. The famous Japanese quality and reasonable price had a significant impact on potential buyers. Next, consider where the Nissan is actually collected.

Where Nissan cars are assembled

Russia occupies a leading place in sales of Nissan cars. The most favorite models of this brand are Nissan Almera, Juke, Note, Teana, Qashqai, X-Trail and many others. That is why, starting in 2009, the plant of the Nissan automobile concern, which is located near St. Petersburg, began to operate in Russia. They collect about 35% of all Nissan cars that are sold in Russia. The rest of the cars are assembled directly in Japan and Great Britain. Since 2012, after the merger of the Nissan and Renault auto concerns, some of the Nissan models have been assembled at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti.

Where is Nissan Almera collected?

The Nissan Almera model is the most popular model of the Nissan brand in Russia. It has been produced since 1995. Since 2012, cars of this model have been assembled at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti, which certainly caused a storm of indignation among potential buyers. The "younger brother" of this model, the Almera Classic, which ceased to be produced back in 2013, was previously produced at the Samsung plant in South Korea.

Where is Nissan Qashqai collected

This crossover is one of the best-selling in Russia. One of the reasons for this is the traditional European assembly. Nissan Qashqai for the European and Russian automotive markets is produced exclusively at a plant in the UK. However, in this regard, only a limited number of modifications of this crossover reach Russia, namely: only cars with gasoline engines.

Where is Nissan Terrano collected?

Another popular Nissan crossover among Russian motorists is rolling off the assembly line in three different countries: Russia, India and Spain. At the same time, the bulk of cars goes to the domestic market of countries, although some are sent for export. In Russia, the Nissan Terrano is assembled at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti.

Where Nissan X-Trail is assembled

If, before 2009, Russians could choose in Japanese or Russian assembly to buy this family car, now this model for Russian market produced from the assembly line of the plant near St. Petersburg. This significantly lowered the rating of the car, but it is completely unreasonable. The Russian-assembled X-Trail is no worse than its Japanese counterparts.

Where is Nissan Tiana collected

This model came to the Russian market in 2003 and immediately became a favorite among our motorists. For a long time, Tiana was assembled exclusively in Japan, but with the opening of a plant near St. Petersburg, its production for Russia was transferred there. However, for some other countries, Nissan Tiana cars are assembled at factories in Japan and even Thailand.

Nissan Corporation is extremely respectful of the Russian market, which is read in almost constant prices for the main the lineup in conditions of inflation and growth of the foreign exchange rate in the country. Today one of the most popular budget sedans becomes Nissan Almera - a car that was recently developed specifically for Russia. We remember the past generations of Almera, but they were completely different. Today, a completely different car is available to the buyer in Russia, which is based on new simple technologies, effective design features. The car looks quite adequately as a family or work sedan for various tasks. The car can perform the tasks of both a simple budget transport and a representative of the middle class for difficult long-distance trips.

Nissan Almera in the new generation has ceased to be a simple budget car. We are talking about fairly advanced technologies under the hood and the good quality of the car. The question of where the Nissan Almera is assembled is of increasing concern to the Russian buyer. This question can be removed if we remember that, in the same form as in Russia, Almera is sold only in some CIS countries. From this we can conclude that the new generation Almera was produced not only for Russia, but also directly in Russia. However, the build quality of the car in our country turned out to be quite high, this car will not cause any criticism from you in terms of layout. In addition, all major units are supplied from Japan, and only assembly is carried out in our factory.

Distribution of Nissan factories and Almera assembly site

Today the corporation is actively working to expand its geography. We are talking about the creation of divisions with a full-fledged production of cars. The company is especially interested in areas not too occupied by other Japanese manufacturers. In terms of profit and turnover, the corporation takes second place in Japan, huge dividends are given to the company by placing factories in those countries where there is no high wages. However, the company monitors the quality of car assembly, performing this task quite efficiently. Among the main divisions of the corporation are factories in Japan, Great Britain, USA, Mexico, South Africa and Russia. These are the main concerns. As for the features of the Russian assembly of Almera, the following features can be distinguished:

  • the production of the model was launched in Togliatti, AvtoVAZ, together with Nissan, prepared a new line for assembling the car;
  • the quality of the plastic suffered greatly for the sake of the low cost of the car, the car received not too expensive interior finishing materials;
  • interior noise insulation also received no signs expensive car, when driving to Almera, you can hear everything that happens to the wheels and the engine;
  • the car received a good quality of seats, a very interesting design of the dashboard, a fairly high-quality metal of the body;
  • welding and painting of the body are also carried out with high quality, the buyer has no complaints about these processes;
  • Almera's special design for Russia was created specifically in the Teana style of the previous generation, the car personifies high cost and chic.

It should be noted that the company spent a lot of investments on the construction of a new production line, received many problems to legalize this activity, but went through all the difficulties quite bravely, having implemented the Russian Nissan assembly Almera. Many professional drivers who have attended a test drive of the car say that the Russian assembly has not been felt here for a long time. The car is completely reliable, of high quality and has excellent opportunities for a successful trip on any road.

Almera Specifications and Performance

Great car on 15- and 16-inch wheels, quite a comfortable ride and good design of all elements. This is what the person who first sat behind the wheel of the Almera will say, if before that he drove old domestic cars... But as soon as you get behind the wheel of a Nissan from a new Toyota, suppose the feeling and the essence of your feedback will change dramatically. Hard plastics, uncertain position on the road, a lot of factory flaws that are visible already on the first trip. As you can see, the Nissan Almera can be versatile. The machine does have a number of problems, but its advantages outweigh the disadvantages:

  • a large enough cabin can accommodate five passengers without any particular difficulties;
  • engines of 1.5 and 2 liters produce 109 and 133 horses, which is quite enough for a dynamic trip;
  • conventional 5-speed mechanics and a new generation CVT are quite adequate options for boxes;
  • the car received many important advantages in suspension details, as well as in the implementation of the braking system;
  • there are no latest technologies on board the Nissan Almera, but traditional Japanese technology is enough;
  • technically, there can be no claims to the car at all, especially with an eye on the cost in the showrooms.

Interestingly, in reviews and on test drives, the car is undergoing a real reformation. First, the driver finds himself in a budget environment that looks too gray and uninteresting, and at the end of the test drive he begins to admire the convenience and thoughtfulness of the car. The fact is that it is wrong to talk about the development of a new generation Nissan Almera especially for Russia. In Japan, since 2007, Sunny has been produced in exactly the same form and with similar technology. Having updated Sunny for Japan, the corporation transferred the old development to AvtoVAZ for assembling a domestic budget car with the image of a foreign car. However, this project was expected to be a predictable success.

Complete set prices and other subtleties of sales Nissan Almera

Cars with great potential can become real leaders in their class, but for the Nissan Almera, this goal is practically unattainable. The car has become popular, but it is simply impossible to overtake all representatives of the budget segment. To begin with, the sedan can hardly be called compact, it is more likely to enter the transitional segment from B to C and cannot fully compete with this. Hyundai solaris... However, there is no need for competition for this car. The main advantages of the machine on the market can be described as follows:

  • the presence of a large number of technical variations of the car for each wallet and each individual case;
  • several available configurations that will help you make the right choice in terms of price and equipment features;
  • quite justified base price in the region of 450,000 rubles, a very good cost option for competition in the class;
  • beautiful appearance that recalls the traditional design options of the Nissan corporation;
  • very high-quality performance of the main elements, despite some shortcomings in materials and their quality;
  • quite acceptable ride comfort, reliability of the car at a fairly high level, as for the budget segment.

There are many variations of benefits that a vehicle can be praised for. Of course, you can find negative aspects for which the car should be scolded. But I don't want to look for them at all. That is why in most situations it is better to use the personal feeling of the trip in order to get more information about the car and confidence in buying it. Take a test drive in one of the Nissan salons and get the necessary emotions and experience of being behind the wheel of a car. Only then will you be able to tell whether the car meets your aspirations and wishes. We offer you to watch a small test drive of the new Almera in the video:

Summing up

Great budget car did not become the most popular in its segment due to some features that the manufacturer donated. Nevertheless, today the Nissan Almera is one of the most promising offerings on the low-cost sedan market. The car is quite ready to prove its superiority in all respects, it can surprise with its high quality and rather pleasant characteristics. Today this vehicle offers great options configurations that will make the trip by car surprisingly pleasant for everyone.

There are many competitors to the Nissan Almera, which offer a more refined and modern appearance, adequate technology, and high build quality. But in all respects, no model can boast of bypassing this development. The Japanese manufacturer figured out how to promote the car on the Russian market and did everything as clearly and correctly as possible. That is why the car received many important advantages and became one of the best-selling cars in its narrow segment. How do you feel about the development of the new generation Nissan Almera?

Concern Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. - a manufacturer of Nissan cars, sales of which are carried out in many parts of the world.

For more than 80 years of existence, the company has managed to earn a good reputation and build many factories that produce cars.

In which countries are Nissan cars produced? Are such cars made in Russia? And if so, can you count on high quality? We will consider these points in the article.

General information about Nissan

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has been operating since December 1933.

The new brand is the result of a merger between two smaller organizations called Nihon Sangyo and Tobata Imono. Since June 1934, the new concern was named "Nissan Motor".

Together with the car production Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. was engaged in the development of rocket motors and even the construction of ships. But the main activity is still cars.

In 1958, deliveries began to the United States, and six years later - to Europe. By 1976, Nissan became the leader in terms of the number of cars sold, the number of which exceeded the 20 million mark.

In 1981, an agreement was signed with Volkswagen, which gave an additional impetus to the growth of production. In 1992, Nissan accounted for 17% of all cars in Japan.

By the mid-90s, the company faced serious financial problems, which forced it to sell part of Renault shares (44.4% of shares). In May 2016, Nissan bought 34% of Mitsubishi shares.

Today Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. owns many auto manufacturers in South Africa, Mexico, Japan, the United States and other countries. The total number of employees exceeds 160 thousand people.

Over the past twenty years, work has been underway to create hybrid cars and electric vehicles.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. works in many directions, and here are just a few of them:

  • Marine - manufacture of ships and engines for ships;
  • Iwaki is a motor manufacturing company;
  • Nismo - revision and tuning of cars.

In Russia, the company's cars have been sold since 2004. It was in this year that Nissan Manufacturing Rus LLC was opened.

In 2005, more than 46,000 cars were sold on the territory of the Russian Federation, and a year later, sales increased by another 70%.

The construction of the plant near St. Petersburg began in 2007, and the first test assembly was organized at the beginning of 2009.

Initially, the plant produced Tiana and X-Trail. Over time, the production of other models was established, including the Murano.

In 2013, the release of Almera started in Togliatti. A year later, Datsun was manufactured on the basis of Granta.

Where is Nissan Qashqai (Qashqai) 2016 assembled, factories in Russia

The production of the car started in 2000, and was based on the already popular FF-S platform.

Seven years later (in 2007), the production of the second generation of the car was launched, but here another platform was already based - Nissan C.

Six years later (in 2013), the world saw the third generation of the Nissan X-Trail, but already based on the CMF.

The car is mostly suitable for family people who need a roomy and reliable crossover.

The greatest advantages of the Nissan X-Trail include high build quality, safety and good specifications... At the same time, the place of production deserves the most attention.

Like a number of other models, the Nissan X-Trail is manufactured in three countries. The first plant is located in Sunderland (UK).

The cars produced here are intended for car owners of the old world. The English version of the Nissan X-Trail almost never gets into car dealerships in Russia.

The second country where the model is produced is Japan. Several factories operate on its territory. From them, cars entered the Russian market until 2009.

At the same time, there were no complaints about the Japanese assembly. The Japanese version of the car is distinguished by a reliable body and a problem-free "walk". The only drawback is the problem with noise isolation.

The third country where Nissan X-Trail is produced is Russia. Cars of this brand have been made near St. Petersburg since 2009.

Today the plant covers more than a third of the needs of the domestic market. At the same time, there are no problems with locally produced cars.

Craftsmen from Russia continued the trend of making 4x4 vehicles. The produced models have not lost in the least beauty, quality and sophistication.

Interestingly, the Nissan X-Trail, made in Russia, even outstrips their Japanese counterparts in terms of luxury trim.

With the start of production of X-Trail in the Russian Federation domestic consumer won noticeably, because the car has become more affordable and optimized for low quality roads.

Despite the absence of complaints, after the start of production of the Russian Nissan X-Trail, some consumers abandoned this model, considering the local assembly problematic. In fact, these are all stereotypes.

In which countries and where is Almera (Almera) assembled, factories in Russia

The car is a model with a history that has gone through many restyling and knows the "taste" of popularity. The machine has been on the conveyor since 1995.

According to the statements of the car manufacturers themselves, it became a kind of analogue of the models already existing at that time in Europe - Pulsar, Sentra and others.

Nissan Almera belongs to the class of budget cars, affordable even for people with an average income.

On the territory of the Russian Federation, the car has been in the TOP-10 in sales for many years. Pros - decent build quality, relatively low price, high level of comfort and safety.

Over the years of production, the car has changed four generations, and each new car was to the liking of consumers.

Despite a slight decline in popularity, Nissan Almera is still afloat and is in demand among domestic car owners.

Nissan Almera is assembled in three countries:

  1. Great Britain (Sunderland). As already noted, cars made in England are the most popular and in demand by connoisseurs of this brand.
  2. Japan. In addition to cars, the country produces component parts. By the way, original spare parts for Nissan cars have mostly Japanese roots.
  3. Russia (AvtoVAZ, Togliatti). Here the production of Nissan Almera cars started after the merger with Renault.

For Russia, Nissan Almera has been produced at AvtoVAZ since 2012. Since the launch of domestic production, many car owners have refused to buy this model, citing the poor quality of Russian assembly.

But such remarks are not justified, because Russian production is perfect, and there is nothing to complain about here. There is also a cycle for the manufacture of parts for Nissan Almera.

It should be noted that only assembly is carried out in Russia, and the main spare parts come from the UK. This is why the final result does not differ much from the British version.

Moreover, the domestic version of Nissan Almera is better prepared for trips on our roads and "lives" longer.

For some time, the car was assembled in South Korea, at the Samsung plant, but already in 2013, production was stopped due to a number of reasons (high production costs, the need to transport parts and other problems).

Tiida (Tiida), factories in Russia

Nissan Tiida is a popular model, which is distinguished by its reliability, compactness and affordable price for domestic motorists. Sales start in 2004.

The name of the car translates as "sun" or "dawn of a new day" (depending on the Japanese dialect).

More than a third of Nissan Tiida cars on the Russian market are produced domestically.

Generally speaking, Tiida is going to England, Japan and the Russian Federation. Car sales in Russia started in 2007. At the same time, until 2014, the car was assembled in Mexico, after which it was delivered to car dealerships in the Russian Federation. Also Nissan Tiida is produced in Japan and Thailand.

Since 2014, the production of Nissan Tiida has been launched at the IZH Auto plant based on the Sentra platform. That is why the car comes to our market with a 1.6-liter engine and 117 horsepower.

As for the quality of the domestic assembly, there are no particular complaints. Already in the database, the buyer receives required package options.

Sound insulation deserves special attention, providing maximum comfort of movement.

The main difference between the Russian-made model (when compared with the European version) are some changes in the cabin.

As for the disadvantages, it is increasingly mentioned here that wipers are ineffective and leave the top of the glass unclean.

Another disadvantage is the presence of fan-type windscreen washer nozzles, which excludes high-quality glass cleaning in motion.

In which countries and where is Juke (Zhuk) assembled, factories in Russia

The Nissan Juke is a compact Japanese crossover that was introduced in 2009 in Geneva.

In Russia, the car has been sold since 2010. For all the time of sales, this model has not lost its popularity and is in deserved demand.

It is based on the Nissan V platform, created specifically for this crossover. The main advantage of the car is its versatility, because the "Zhuk" is perfect for both families and young people.

Since its inception, the Nissan Juke has grown in popularity and is now produced in 20 factories around the world. Moreover, in each country there are certain differences in the subtleties in the nuances of the assembly.

For the Russian market, the car is produced in Japan and the UK. At the same time, the plant in Japan (Tochigi province) has remained the main supplier for many years.

The peculiarity of production is that here the assembly goes through a full cycle, starting with the manufacture of parts and ending with the adjustment of the electronics.

Hundreds of people take part in the creation of the machine, despite the fact that most of the production is automated.

The average production time for one car is 60 hours. After completion of work, the machine passes full test drive and then goes to Russia.

Domestic car owners can choose another option - buying a Nissan Juke made in Great Britain.

Here, on average, each worker produces up to 105 cars a year, and a large share of this figure is accounted for by the "Beetle".

This model is released in Sunderland relatively recently, and the main feature of the English version is more attention to the beauty of the cabin.

At the same time, a common drawback is the increased noise level when picking up speed.

In which countries are spare parts for Nissan cars produced, factories in Russia

All car parts are divided into original and non-original.

For Nissan cars, original parts are made in Japan, Great Britain and a number of other countries that have received an English franchise.

These states include Holland and India.

The market for non-original spare parts, which, contrary to many stereotypes, are of no less quality, is considered to be much large.

Such products may be produced under the brand name of the manufacturer or under other brands.

The most popular companies engaged in the production of non-original spare parts are:

  • Bosch is a German company that produces starters, motor control systems, relays, voltage regulators and other components.
  • DEPO is a Taiwanese manufacturer that manufactures and manufactures optics for the Nissan car.
  • Gates is a Belgian brand that manufactures V-ribbed belts, engine drive systems, belt anchorage quality control devices and much more.
  • Nissens is a well-known manufacturer of radiators, heaters, and other equipment.

In addition to the companies already mentioned, it is worth highlighting KYB (Japan), NK (Denmark), Valeo (France) and others.

Part of spare parts for Nissan cars is also made in Russia. So, in 2016, the export of bumpers for X-Trail to Europe began. Manufacturer - a plant affiliated with the company in St. Petersburg.

The main difference is high quality and affordable price. Today the company produces bumpers for a large group of models - Qashqai, Murano, X-Trail and others.

The option of manufacturing and supplying other body elements (hood and doors) to Europe is also being considered.

How to determine the country of origin by the Wine Code?

In conclusion, we will consider how to identify the manufacturer Nissan by the Vin-code.

To begin with, it is worth that the VIN number is formed from three parts - WMI, VDS, VIS (world index, descriptive part and distinctive part, respectively). We are interested in the first code.

By the way, the VIN-code can be applied:

  • On a dividing wall in the engine compartment;
  • On the left side of the instrument panel (the numbers can be seen under the windshield);
  • On the right side member in front;
  • Under the feet of the passenger.

If the machine is made for Europe, the WMI decryption looks like this:

  • 1N4, 1N6, 5N1 - USA;
  • 3N1 - Mexico;

First, about the model itself. The first generation X-Trail was released in 2000. The model was based on the Nissan FF-S platform, and its exterior was decided in the style legendary SUV Nissan Patrol. This brutality, which largely determined the popularity of the novelty, subsequently served as a pretext for criticism of the designers who proposed a new look for the evolved X-Trail. But this will happen only 13 years later, and in 2007 the second generation of the X-Trail, created on the Nissan C-platform, entered the world markets. The same one on which the Qashqai model was launched a year earlier.

Car production in St. Petersburg started in 2009, and in 2012 the plant was awarded its first award: "The best plant for quality" among all Nissan plants in the world

There were few design refinements in the exterior of the second generation, and the X-Trail was still a brutal car - in this Nissan marketers saw one of the highlights of the model. And in 2013, the third generation of the X-Trail came out, which sparked talk about whether the popular car has lost its masculine character, and with it its off-road qualities? As for the latter, it has definitely not lost, but brutality ... Be that as it may, but even in Russia, where they know a lot about SUVs, sales of X-Trail today exceeded sales figures for Qashqai - a car that has long and well established itself in the SUV segment ...

Parts for the body shop come from our own stamping shop

Production of the third generation X-Trail at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg started in December 2014, and the launch was carried out in record time. But this does not mean at all that the manufacturers could count on some discounts in terms of quality: only full compliance with all company standards gives the green light to start production of the model. By the way, about the loss of brutality ... At the start of Russian production of the third generation X-Trail, fans of the model were interested in whether it was possible to leave the previous version on the assembly line?

It is clear that there were more emotions at the heart of the question: the new X-Trail, firstly, is much more technologically advanced, and secondly, its design required more careful work with gaps and differences in body surfaces, and this fact was very soon noted by Russian buyers. As for the efficiency with which the launch of the model took place, the employees of the plant are proud of it for a reason: the start of production of the X-Trail took place simultaneously with the expansion of the plant.

December 2014. The plant launched the production of the new Nissan X-Trail

By 2014, the plant, annually producing about 50,000 cars, reached its maximum capacity, and without the expansion of production facilities, the release of new models was no longer possible. New production sites also appeared, such as a stamping shop and a plastic shop, which made it possible to significantly increase the share of domestic components in the X-Trail model. In addition, the rapid start-up was facilitated by changes in the management structure: in each department there was a team directly responsible for the launch. The work of this group began at the stage of solving engineering issues, one and a half to two years before the start of production. All the measures taken made it possible to reach the required level of quality not in three months released according to Nissan standards, but in eight to nine weeks.

The painting shop of the plant is equipped with the most modern equipment

The speed with which a new model is launched into production, the figures reflecting the volumes of that very production - all this is important. But there is another equally important criterion - quality. “10-15 years ago, it was believed that the Russian consumer, in conditions of shortage, did not assess the quality of cars so critically,” says Boris Mezentsev, manager of quality assurance for cars of Nissan Manufacturing Rus LLC. - Today, judging by the data of the annual questionnaires of the European standard, we see that our clients are sometimes more demanding than clients in Europe.

And, as a rule, we are not talking about quality, this is a fact taken for granted. Russian customers want to own a car of the highest standard. " An example of such exactingness was the appeal regarding the size of the gaps in the body parts of the Nissan Teana, although they all fit within the tolerances defined by the Japanese side. As for the X-Trail, there were no issues with gaps and differences in body parts even with the release of the first model. “Without full compliance with Nissan standards, we simply could not produce cars of this brand,” continues Boris Mezentsev. "But if a customer demands an even higher level of quality, we can tighten up Japanese regulations within our plant." And this is not just a declaration of intent: in order to stay ahead of customers' wishes, some tolerances have been revised at Nissan's St. Petersburg plant.

Consumer feedback is really important to plant engineering, and it is not just about collecting statistics and analyzing warranty claims. Measures are being taken on the most pressing requests. For example, there were wishes to change the base angle of the low beam in the Nissan X-Trail headlights. And despite the fact that changing the parameters when installing the head lighting must simultaneously meet the requirements of Nissan and the Russian technical regulations, the customers' request was satisfied. There were also wishes to improve the efficiency of the Nissan X-Trail.

As a result, today's model, in particular, is equipped with an eco-mode function, and compared to the T31, fuel consumption has been reduced by 20-25%. Moreover, in December 2016, a direct line of communication between customers and the plant was launched, excluding not so prompt communication through questionnaires or dealerships. There are also more global wishes of Russian clients. For example, many would like to have a larger trunk on their third generation X-Trail. It is clear that in the conditions of the plant this problem cannot be solved, but such wishes are passed on to the design department of Nissan, and it is very likely that they will be taken into account when developing the next X-Trail model.

Quality standards are determined by Nissan, but internal factory requirements are sometimes more stringent.

It is clear that the client always wants something more. But the third-generation Nissan X-Trail still fits the bill for a reliable family SUV. In comparison with the previous version, it became more maneuverable, received improved steering and variator settings. That is, as the engineers of the Nissan plant themselves say, "has become more friendly." As for the design, which someone at the level of the launch of the model considered controversial, it hardly scared away the true admirers of this car, but it certainly attracted new customers to the ranks of the "Nissan X-Trail fan club".

And in conclusion, a few words about the Russian assembly, a topic that a few years ago was the talk of the town. Today, the level of consumer confidence in cars assembled in Russia is much higher, but one fact is still worth mentioning: according to the results of the latest independent audit, which was commissioned by the Japanese headquarters, the St. Petersburg Nissan plant in terms of the number of points scored was ahead of the European head company enterprise, plant in Sunderland (Great Britain).

The growth of production required both the expansion of areas and the emergence of new workshops. The picture shows a plastic workshop

From 2009 to 2014, the plant produced 113,818 Nissan X-Trail vehicles, and from 2014 to the present day, more than 52,000 vehicles of the new version.
