Real fuel consumption of Lada Kalina Cross. New Lada Kalina Cross price, photos, videos, equipment, technical characteristics of Lada Kalina Cross. What determines average fuel consumption?

The Lada Kalina car first appeared on the automobile market back in 1998. Since 2004, vases began to be produced in hatchback, sedan, and station wagon versions. The fuel consumption of the Lada Kalina, judging by numerous reviews from owners, is quite acceptable, and in reality does not exceed the fuel indicator stated in the technical specifications.

Modifications and consumption rates

Having studied technical specifications Lada Kalina, gasoline consumption, one might say, fluctuates slightly up or down. Thus, fuel consumption on an 8-valve Lada Kalina in practice reaches 10 - 13 liters in the city and 6 - 8 on the highway. Although the gasoline consumption rate is Lada Kalina 2008, with proper care and use, should not exceed 5.8 liters on the highway and 9 liters within the city. Gasoline consumption of the Lada Kalina Hatchback in the city does not exceed 7 liters.

The actual fuel consumption of the Lada Kalina per 100 km from different owners, according to reviews, is slightly different from the norm:

  • consumption within the city is 8 liters, but in reality – more than ten liters;
  • on a highway outside a populated area: the norm is 6 liters, and owners report that the figures reach 8 liters;
  • with a mixed driving cycle - 7 liters, in practice the figures reach ten liters per 100 km.

Lada Kalina Cross

This car model first appeared on the market in 2015. Unlike previous options, the Lada Cross can be classified as a crossover in terms of technical characteristics.

Lada Cross exists in the following modifications: 1.6 liters with front-wheel drive and mechanical control and 1.6 liters with front-wheel drive, but automatic transmission transmission

The average fuel consumption is 6.5 liters, according to the vehicle's technical data sheet.

But, fuel consumption on the Lada Kalina Cross in various driving and operating conditions will differ from the standard indicator.

So on the highway outside the city it will be 5.8 liters, but if you move within the city, the cost will increase to nine liters per hundred kilometers.

Lada Kalina 2

Since 2013, production of the second generation Lada Kalina VAZ began in body variants such as station wagon and hatchback. The engine of this model is 1.6 liters, but of different powers. And depending on the power, respectively, and different consumption gasoline.

Fuel consumption when driving on a city highway ranges from 8.5 to 10.5 liters. The fuel consumption of Lada Kalina 2 on the highway is on average 6.0 liters per hundred kilometers.

How to reduce fuel consumption

There are several simple rules by adhering to which you can eliminate the cause of excessive fuel consumption:

  • Fill only with high quality fuel.
  • Monitor the technical condition of the vehicle.
  • Pay more attention to your driving style.

The Lada-Kalina car is available in several bodies: station wagon, hatchback and sedan. It has gained popularity among Russian car owners due to its accessibility. Moreover, the fuel consumption per 100 km for the Lada Kalina with a manual transmission is 7.1 liters (combined cycle). It is also worth mentioning the price of the newest model, which varies from 420,000 to 580,000 rubles.

Brief description

The car has been produced from 2004 to the present time. Assembly is carried out both in Russia (Tolyatti) and in Kazakhstan (Ust-Kamenogorsk). Belongs to cars of the second group. The first generation of Lada-Kalina was produced right up to 2013. Then a new generation came to replace it, which received an updated design.

The car has been designed since 1993. Then, 5 years later, the car was called “Lada-Kalina”. It was presented to the public as a concept in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

Specifications

The technical characteristics of the Kalina depend on the car model, of which there are only two: with a four-speed automatic and manual five-speed gearbox transmission They are presented in the table.

Review

People called the Lada-Kalina the improved Granta. This is all visible in the interior materials, sound insulation, and the principle of engine operation. Thanks to this, the Lada Kalina's fuel consumption per 100 km is 7.1 liters.

As for the differences from the previous generation, progress is noticeable here. In more old version handling was at a low level, poor steering response to driver movements made car owners very nervous. Therefore, AvtoVAZ engineers carried out work to reduce the length of the steering rack. Thanks to this, the steering wheel now makes not four full turns, but three. An electric power steering from a Korean manufacturer was also installed, which significantly improved steering control.

Thanks to the work of engineers, the transmission was updated, which also caused a lot of inconvenience. Now changing gears has become much easier, vibration has been eliminated, the gearshift lever travel has become shorter, and gear shifting has also become softer.

As for the technical characteristics of the Kalina, a new engine with a power of 106 was added to the engine line. horsepower. But the drivers didn’t like it. Acceleration has not become noticeably faster, it feels like practically nothing has changed, so pay transport tax a couple thousand more makes no sense. Car enthusiasts prefer the previous 98 horsepower engine.

Noise insulation is poor, just like in the previous generation. After all, AvtoVAZ decided to completely abandon fender liners to save money. But the company promised to correct this defect and install them on the new generation.

The updated design looks fresher, but the shapes are still the same. Very large side mirrors look ridiculous given the size of the car. But besides this, there are a lot of positive changes. The fuel consumption per 100 km of the Lada Kalina has also been changed; it is significantly less than its predecessor due to the updated engine.

The new generation in top versions has a large touch display. The updated version removed the disk drive, but now it is possible to listen to music from flash drives and SD cards. The display fits perfectly into the car's interior. Dashboard now has a speedometer, tachometer and a small display between them.

The gear lever began to look more attractive compared to the previous generation, both in the version with automatic and manual transmission.

There are a number of new airbags, which are now located both above the glove compartment and in the front doors. The deflectors have a new design: they consist of two wings. The seats have not changed radically, but now it has become more comfortable to sit in them even for passengers up to 1.9 meters tall.

Content

The Lada Kalina car has come quite a long way before its production in 2004 - the first prototypes appeared back in 1999. After the launch of production, options appeared not only in the sedan body, but also in the station wagon and 5-door hatchback bodies. The car was equipped with three different motors: 16-valve 1.4 liter engine and two 1.6 liter units in eight and sixteen valve versions.

Since May 2013, AvtoVAZ began production of the Lada Kalina 2 station wagon and hatchback, which widely used the technical solutions of the first generation Kalina and Grants. The second “Kalina” practically retained the same line of power units, but a new 1.6 liter engine appeared, developing a power of 106 hp - it replaced the 1.4-liter sixteen-valve engine.

Lada Kalina 1st generation 8-valve

The base engine for Lada Kalina is a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine VAZ-21114 with in-line cylinders and 8 valves. With a volume of 1.6 liters, it is capable of developing a power of 81 hp. and a torque of 120 Nm. This engine is paired exclusively with a traditional 5-speed manual transmission.

Real fuel consumption Lada Kalina 1.6 8V

  • Anton, Krasnodar. I drove a Subaru until the engine blew. There was no money for repairs (and the amount was very large), so I managed to exchange my Japanese car for the domestic auto industry in the form of a 2002 Lada Kalina with a 1.6 liter eight-valve engine. Everything turned out to be not as sad as I thought, but the consumption is a bit high - on the highway 8 liters, in the city - up to 12.
  • Sergey, Kirov. When purchasing, I was focusing on a car in the price range of up to 200 thousand. It is clear that for that kind of money only the domestic auto industry needs to be looked at carefully. In general, I found a good version of Kalina with a 1.6 eight-cylinder engine. The equipment is of course the simplest - but I’d rather have a lively body and suspension than a Conder in the car. Consumption is normal - the engine does not consume oil, on the highway it is about 7 liters, in the city - no more than 10.
  • Semyon, Pyatigorsk. I was choosing between Granta and Kalina - the choice turned out to be in favor of the latter, since it was cheaper. Of course, if you get to know each other better, the domestic assembly and “high quality” are clearly visible, but at this price only the Chinese, and repairing them is a hemorrhoid. It would be possible to buy a used foreign car, but spare parts for them are not easy to get here, but for VAZs they are like dirt. In general, I chose the best from the worst. In terms of consumption - on a serpentine it turns out to be at least ten per hundred in mixed mode - another confirmation of the fact that “we choose the best from the worst.”
  • Kostya, Volgograd. At the time of purchase, I had an amount of 300 thousand rubles - this is 2012. Among foreign cars for that kind of money - only slag. The only acceptable options are Lada Kalina or Granta, but it’s their turn for six months. As a result, I bought a Kalina hatch with an eight-valve engine. Consumption is low (like after the VAZ-2105) - 10 in the city, 8 on the highway. But the build quality is frankly g..o.
  • Alexander, Kurgan. When the question arose in 2010 about buying a car, the following requirements were: manual transmission, high ground clearance(well, more or less), comfortable geometry with small overhangs and a maximum of a couple of years after release. Result - Lada Kalina sedan 2008, eight-valve engine, plus Conder, engine heating and wheels. I drive carefully, so my consumption in the city is no more than 8.5 liters. At long range it comes out to about 6, maybe a little more.

Lada Kalina 1.4 l 1st generation

The VAZ-11194 1.4-liter in-line 16-valve gasoline engine develops a power of 89 hp. and is capable of producing a torque of 127 Nm. The engine is quite dynamic, but performs better in high speed, which affects its efficiency - in terms of fuel consumption it is not inferior to its 1.6-liter counterparts.

Reviews on fuel consumption of Lada Kalina 1.4 16V per 100 km

  • Maxim Orenburg. The purchase of Kalina was, one might say, accidental - initially I was considering exclusively foreign cars, but there was nothing in the range of 250-300 thousand. Sedan body, 1.4 liter 16 valve engine, manual transmission, year of manufacture - 2011. In principle, everything is fine - minor problems do not count. I often drive in highway-city mode, so I calculate the consumption this way - it comes out to 6.8 l/100 km.
  • Boris, Ust-Ordynsky. The car was needed for work, and the budget was strictly limited. I chose Kalina station wagon, produced in 2008 with a mileage of 43 thousand and a 1.4 liter engine. It was possible to take an eight-valve one, but I wanted a better package, since I do a lot of long-distance driving. Consumption on the highway is about 6 liters, no more, in the city it is about 2 liters more.
  • Evgeniy, Tolyatti. At first I was looking for a Kalina with a Priorov 16-valve engine, but I couldn’t find any offers for the money I had. An option with a 1.4-liter engine turned up - good equipment, mileage only 20 thousand and one owner. I took it. In the city in winter it comes out to about 10 liters; I rarely drive on the highway, so I can’t say for sure.
  • Fedor, Surgut. Kalina is my first car, because... I received my license only in 2013. But since my wife had them before, we got the car back in 2010. As for the engine, it’s a fairly economical engine, on average we get 9 liters per hundred square kilometers, but if you turn on the Conder, you really feel the dips and normal thrust generally only appears above 2500 rpm.

Lada Kalina 1.6 16-valve

The well-proven Priorovsky 16-valve VAZ-21126 engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 98 hp. was also installed on the first generation LADA Kalina. Versions with such an engine are considered the best in the Kalin model range - it is not only the most powerful, but at the same time the most economical and reliable of all that are installed on cars of this model.

Real fuel consumption Lada Kalina 1.6 16V

  • Yuri, Novosibirsk. I bought the car in winter 2011, immediately after receiving my license. Naturally, I chose the most budget option up to 300 thousand. Foreign cars don’t count - for that kind of money they’re generally pathetic. I actually wanted to take Grant, but I didn’t want to wait, so I decided to buy a Kalina station wagon with the most powerful engine. At first I was simply amazed at the consumption - it was about 20 liters in the city in winter, but after running it in, the consumption dropped greatly and became no more than 10-12 liters in winter and up to 10 in summer. On the highway 4.8 - 5.5 liters per hundred square meters.
  • Sergey, Novorossiysk. I only considered Kalina with a sixteen-valve engine, which I know from the VAZ-2112. It is torquey, quite resourceful and economical. Since there is an on-board computer, it is possible to find out the consumption without manually calculating it, but according to the readings. So, in the city on average I have from 7.1 to 8.6 liters, and on the highway - 4.8 - 5.0 liters.
  • Fedor, Kostroma. I used to own a “Seven”, after selling it I managed to save up a little and started thinking about buying a new car. We only considered the VAZ - there was only enough money for a new one, and the devil is not as scary as everyone paints him to be. For the price it's an excellent car. But then I came across a station wagon version of Kalina with a mileage of 89 thousand km, but in excellent condition and the maximum configuration, with a Priorovsky 1.6 16 valve engine. Beauty - consumption in the city is up to 8.5 liters, on the highway 6 liters, does not make noise, drives well and is comfortable.
  • Maxim, Pryamitsyno. Kalina, 1.6 16V, 2011, station wagon. When purchasing, I chose an inexpensive and domestic manufacturer with a mileage of 2-3 years (follows from the first requirement). The choice fell on the 16-valve Kalina station wagon. Having driven it for 3 years, I can say that for the money the car is not bad, but not without its shortcomings. What pleased me was the consumption: 8 liters in the city, up to 6 liters on the highway.
  • Denis, Moscow. I bought Kalina in the summer of 2015. Station wagon body, year of manufacture - 2011, 1.6 liter engine with 16 valves, in luxury configuration. The condition is good, it consumes little gasoline - in the city (Moscow, please don’t forget) - a maximum of 9 liters, outside the city - 5.5-6. Although now, if I had a choice, it would be better to buy a Renault Logan.

Lada Kalina 2, 1.6 l 8V

For the second generation Kalina, the base engine is the VAZ-11186. This is an 8 valve gasoline engine 1.6 liter capacity, developed for the Lada Granta and being an improved version of the VAZ-11183 engine. It is capable of developing power of 87 hp. and a torque of 140 Nm, and according to emission standards it complies with Euro-4 standards. The engine is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Gasoline consumption per 100 km Lada Kalina 2 1.6 8 valves. Reviews

  • Kirill, Ryazan. Initially, I rented a car only for the winter - by the summer I had to save up money and buy myself something more worthy. Therefore, I didn’t bother too much and bought a Lada Kalina 2 with the simplest 8-valve engine, produced in 2014. I skated for exactly 8 months and sold it with a pure heart. My winter consumption was about 8 liters, there were no breakdowns.
  • Anatoly, Tolyatti. I bought a car 3 months ago – Kalina 2 station wagon, 87 hp engine, manual. For me, the best thing is that it’s convenient to carry a bunch of crap at work, the engine is economical - during the run-in it was more than 10 liters in the city, then it dropped to 8.5 liters.
  • Alexander, Nadym. The asking price is 500 thousand. It’s not enough for a foreign car, but it’s enough for the new Kalina 2, albeit with an eight-valve engine. I have already driven 15,000 km - the average consumption according to the on-board computer is 7.1...7.4 l/100 km.
  • Maria, Perm. LADA Kalina 2, 1.6MT, manufactured in 2016. I chose the hatch and I like it. Spare parts are cheap - you can stupidly go broke on the “eternal Japanese”. I’m sure I won’t know grief for 5 years. In addition, it is very economical - it consumes little oil, and my consumption is no more than 6 liters - I really travel more outside the city, and in the city itself it’s quite small.

Lada Kalina 2, 1.6 l 16V 98 hp

Unlike the previous generation, the “Prior” 16-valve engine is the most common and is installed on standard equipment Lada Kalina. This 98-horsepower 1.6-liter engine can be installed not only with a traditional 5-speed manual transmission, but also with a Jatco JF414E 4-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel consumption per 100 km Lada Kalina 2 16V. Reviews

  • Yuri, St. Petersburg. I bought a car for my mother - before that she had a Matiz with a 0.8 liter engine and wild fuel consumption for such a baby. After it started to fall apart, I decided to buy her something new so that she would not have to be a repairman. As an inexpensive option, I chose the Lada Kalina 2 with a five-door body and a Priorov engine. I also took an automatic rifle - she got used to it on the Matiz, it’s really hard to relearn. Not a bad car - decent dynamics (I didn’t expect it myself), more or less comfortable equipment. True, due to the long gears of the automatic, the consumption in the city is about 11 liters, on the highway - 8.
  • Stanislav, Kemerovo. Lada Kalina 2, station wagon, 1.6MT, 2014. I was looking at Duster, but due to the fall in the exchange rate, its price skyrocketed and I switched to something simpler. On the advice of a friend from the service station, I chose Kalina second. It’s more or less comfortable, and what I like most is the fuel consumption – I get no more than 8 liters, although I drive mostly on the highway.
  • Maxim, Ryazan. We chose a car more for my wife - I drive for work 90% of the time, and she either takes the child or runs errands. We settled on a white Kalina 2 in a hatchback body, with a Priorov engine and an automatic transmission - for a woman, I think it’s very convenient. True, there is also a minus here - in the city with an automatic transmission the consumption is about 10-11 liters - a bit too much, as for Kalina.
  • Oleg, St. Petersburg. Before Kalina there was a Nissan Tiida, but I successfully crashed it, and in such a way that I didn’t receive anything from the insurance company. In the end, I had to buy Kalina 2, but I bought a new one - I don’t like tinkering with cars. In terms of comfort and build quality, of course, it loses to the Tiida, but all the extras and spare parts are much cheaper, and the consumption for a used car is 9 liters per hundred square meters - this despite the fact that I have an automatic transmission.
  • Kirill, Surgut. I bought the car for my wife, so I took a hatch with an automatic transmission and a Priora engine. I tried to persuade her to take the station wagon, but she didn’t want to. Although the hatch is quite neat and compact, and my wife’s consumption in the city is up to 9 liters, or even 8.

Lada Kalina 2, 1.6 l 16V 106 hp

The VAZ-21127 engine is a modified version of the “Prior” 16-valve engine. With a slight increase in torque to 145 Nm, it was possible to increase power to 106 hp, and installing a controlled start improved the dynamics of the engine and made it more flexible. This allows the engine to be equipped with both a manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission and the new 5-band AMT 2182 robot.

The crossover recipe for the Lada Kalina Cross is simple: the ground clearance of a regular station wagon was increased by 23 mm, to 183 mm, and the body was covered with black plastic around the perimeter. The car was raised using other suspension elements and 195/55/R15 tires. But maybe there are other differences with the universal Kalina? Let's look.

Lada Kalina Cross - winter cherry

Lada Kalina Cross is the embodiment of the idea of the penultimate chief of AvtoVAZ, Bo Andersson, how to quickly and inexpensively refresh the model range without radical changes in the course budget car specifically for Russia.

External changes benefited Kalina Cross. The car looks more interesting than a simple station wagon.

External changes to the cross version from just Kalina are roof rails, door moldings, a plastic body kit and other bumpers.

Lada Kalina Cross

The test car is in the maximum Luxe configuration with a 106 hp (1.6 liter) engine and a five-speed manual transmission for 568,600 rubles. Only the version with a robot is more expensive - for 593,600 rubles. Strange, but Lada Kalina Cross is not available classic machine gun, which the regular version can have in combination with a 98 hp engine. In total, the Lada Kalina Cross version has seven trim levels, eight body colors and two interior options.

Among the interior trim options, you can choose neutral gray tones, or youth orange.

Some people love gray, and Kalina Cross has it.

Lada-Kalina-Cross: The backlight is moderately bright. Green is not everyone's taste.

Do not put a glass larger than the standard one from Starbucs in the cup holders for the driver and passenger; it will interfere with gear shifting.

Lada Kalina Cross - an all-terrain vehicle?

There is no point in creating illusions about the off-road exploits of the cross-country Kalina. The only off-road arsenal it has is ground clearance. The engine is not very powerful, and the drive is only front-wheel drive.

Off-road, thanks to the ground clearance of 183 millimeters, the car behaves confidently.

The downside of the increased ground clearance is behavior on a flat road. The higher the speed, the more unpleasant the ride. At highway speeds of 100 km/h, the raised station wagon does not hold a straight line and forces you to constantly steer. The regular version also has this problem, but it is less pronounced. Sluggish dynamics add nervousness to the ride.

The Kalina Cross reaches the first 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds. Overtaking is difficult for both the car and the driver.

And the Lada Kalina Cross consumes more fuel than a regular station wagon. Again, the increased ground clearance has an effect. On-board computer, with a gear shift prompt, will help you stay close to the rated fuel consumption figures. During the test, it consumed 10.5 liters/100 km in the urban cycle and 6.8 liters in highway mode. This is one liter more than the figures stated by the manufacturer. Kalina Cross needs to be refueled with gasoline no lower than ninety-five.

Despite its apparent versatility, Kalina Cross is poorly suited for long roads and travel.

A driver on a long journey in a Lada Kalina Cross will be very tired not only from DC voltage, but also from poor seating ergonomics. The steering column is height adjustable only. The seats do not have lumbar support, and the height of the seat cushion is not optimal for drivers of different sizes.

Tall riders feel cramped both behind the wheel and in the passenger seats. The amount of space in height and width is small.

Despite the practical body type, the luggage compartment capacity is small - only 355 liters.

The organization of the luggage compartment space can be called rational. Almost every liter is ready to accept some kind of load. For example, a set of wheels will fit into the trunk if you arrange them in a row.

With the second row of seats folded, which fold in a 60/40 ratio, the volume increases to 670 liters. But for comfortable operation a flat floor is not enough.

Under load, driving the Lada Kalina Cross on the track becomes easier. The car holds a straight line better. But along with the free liters in the trunk, the permeability goes away.

Kalina Cross was equipped with two front airbags, ABS, EBD ( electronic system brake force distribution) and BAS (brake assist system), although the body design is too old for modern levels of passive safety.

Kalina Cross is equipped with alloy wheels. The spare wheel is standard stamping.

Initially, it was planned that the core of Kalina Cross’ buyers would be active young people eager to travel. But in reality, the main model, that is, Kalina, turned out to be too old for them. But the increased ground clearance was approved by summer residents and people of the older generation - those for whom it is more important to feel more confident on a dirt road or snowdrift than to drive in the city and on the highway.

Kalina Cross is sold in seven trim levels. Prices from 525,800 rubles to 593,600 rubles.

Despite the abundance of shortcomings, the Lada Kalina Cross has the right to exist. As a niche product - for sure. For example, for summer residents. The model has no direct competitors, especially considering the prices. But even without taking into account prices, we simply do not offer other B-class station wagons with a ground clearance of more than 180 mm. And small crossovers are increasingly more expensive.

So, Lada Kalina took on the fashion trend called “cross”. Did she take it out of the chest, was it a gift from someone else, or did she just get better on her own? Sorry, I remember how many hopes we pinned on this car at one time, I saw various prototypes of it. And today, looking at Kalina Cross, I can only say one thing - I’ve already seen this somewhere. It’s a pity that this feeling is not associated with a specific moment from Kalina’s past.

New Lada Kalina Cross has become a new word in development model range Lada. It's no secret that many auto manufacturers have pseudo-off-road modifications of conventional models, the distinctive feature of which is an increased ground clearance and a practical plastic body kit all around. Plus some differences in the interior and exterior.

Lada Kalina Cross built according to all generally accepted patterns for such cars. Firstly, the car has new bumpers with special linings, protective plastic is now on the arches, and the same unpainted and rather wide plastic is used as moldings. Of course, there is a slightly modernized suspension, which made it possible to increase the vehicle's ground clearance. All this is designed to make the car suitable for more severe operating conditions outside the city. Although in some cities of Russia the roads are so bad that all of the above is very useful there too.

When creating the Kalina Cross, we took the Lada Kalina station wagon as a basis. This car differs from a regular hatchback in having a fairly spacious trunk, which is very practical. A large trunk is a necessity for hunters, tourists and travelers; it is for them that the car was created. Don't forget about the roof rails on the Kalina Cross, which allows you to install an additional luggage rack on top of the car. Appearance new Lada Kalina Cross look at the photo further.

Salon Lada Kalina Cross The trailer differs little from the top version of the regular Lada Kalina, but it has its own unique elements. For example, there are orange inserts in the door trim, center console, steering wheel, and seat upholstery. Apparently this should please the owner in difficult situations and distinguish the Kalina Cross interior from ordinary models. Photos of Kalina Cross salon look below.

Technical characteristics of Lada Kalina Cross

Many potential buyers are concerned about one important question: will it be produced? all-wheel drive Lada Kalina Cross. The leaders of AvtoVAZ answered this question unequivocally, versions Lada Kalina Cross 4x4 there won't be. At least in the near future, an all-wheel drive transmission will not appear on the car. Like the regular Kalina, the Cross modification will be an exclusively front-wheel drive car. As for the dimensions of the car, we see the detailed dimensions of the new product from Togliatti below.
