In terms of its dimensions, the new BMW 3 F30 exceeds its predecessor in length by 93 mm (4,624 mm), and the wheelbase has increased by 50 mm - to 2,810 mm. This not only made it possible to slightly increase the free legroom for rear passengers, but also provided a 20-liter increase in trunk volume, which is now 480 liters.

The total weight of the new BMW 3-Series F30 has been reduced by 40 kg to 1,415 kg, and the drag coefficient has been improved to 0.26. All this helps make the car more economical, but an even more important role in this aspect is played by the standard start/stop system, brake energy recovery system and tires with reduced rolling resistance.

In the base, the new sixth-generation BMW three-ruble car is offered with a six-speed gearbox manual transmission gears, but for the first time in the history of this model, buyers can order the car with an 8-speed automatic transmission. In addition, already in the database the new product can boast of the presence of a mechatronic chassis and the Drive Performance Control system, which allows you to select individual settings for various controls and operation electronic systems.

Initially, the basic version of the sedan was the 328i modification, equipped with a 245-horsepower 2.0-liter gasoline “four” with double turbocharging and developing a peak torque of 350 Nm. With it, the new BMW 3-Series reaches a hundred from a standstill in 5.9 seconds, and maximum speed limited to 250 km/h.

The top version is the 335i, under the hood of which there is an in-line turbocharged “six” with a displacement of 3.0 liters, producing 306 “horses” and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. This engine accelerates the sedan to hundreds in 5.5 seconds, and the top speed is limited to the same 250 km/h.

Diesel engines represented by 2.0-liter turbocharged units with a capacity of 163 hp. on 320d EfficientDynamics and 184 hp. – at 320d, the peak torque of which is 380 Nm. And in the spring of 2012, BMW began installing more modest diesel engines with a capacity of 116 hp on the new three-ruble ruble. (260 Nm) for the 316d version and 143 hp. (320 Nm) - on the 318d, as well as a 184-horsepower (270 Nm) gasoline engine on the 320i.

There is also a hybrid version, ActiveHybrid 3, which receives the same technical stuffing, as the recently presented sedan. This is a 3.0-liter TwinTurbo petrol engine with 306 hp, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 54-horsepower electric motor. The average fuel consumption of this modification is stated at 6.4 liters per hundred.

Options for the new BMW 3-Series F30 include a rear view camera with an all-round view system, an automatic parking system, a ConnectedDrive multimedia system with Internet access, active cruise control, a color head-up display, as well as an M package with a sports lowered car. 10 mm suspension, chrome pipes exhaust system, exclusive exterior paint, sporty interior trim and 18- or 19-inch alloy rims.

Along with the new generation of the sedan, the BMW 3 Series also debuted a new four cylinder engine- on BMW versions 328i. From a displacement of 1997 cc, it produces a maximum power of 245 hp, which is achieved at 5000 rpm. Thanks to TwinScroll turbo technology, the petrol engine develops a maximum torque of 350 Nm already at 1250 rpm and maintains this value until 4800 rpm. The BMW 328i accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. BMW 335i is for connoisseurs of six-cylinder engines. Power 306 hp provides the 3.0-liter inline six with excellent dynamics. The torque is 400 Nm already at 1200 rpm and is available up to 5000 rpm. Thanks to this, the BMW 335i accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The new BMW 3 Series also uses the four-cylinder diesel engine of its predecessor with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. Its maximum power is 184 hp. Torque is 380 Nm (1750-2750 rpm), acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes just 7.5 seconds, and the top speed is 235 km/h.

The new 3-Series sedans feature more aluminum and high-strength steel than before, reducing vehicle weight by 40 kg. At the same time, the rigidity of the body has increased, which, as the manufacturer claims, has resulted in better steering accuracy and maneuverability, while simultaneously increasing the degree of protection for passengers. An alternative to traditional rear wheel drive the system acts all-wheel drive xDrive - this intelligent system adapts perfectly to the most challenging road conditions, providing redistribution of traction between the axles for optimal traction.

Safety equipment includes six airbags: driver and front passenger, side airbags and curtain airbags.
