The Udarnik plant, which is the parent enterprise of Amkodor, traces its history back to 1927. Initially, the company specialized in the production of soft toys (Vozrozhdenie factory). A few years later, the production of the first commercial decimal scales in the USSR under the Udarnik brand was mastered.

Since 1952, the plant began producing road and earth-moving equipment.

In 1991, by a joint decision of the USSR Ministry of Heavy Engineering and the Minsk Research and Production Association of Road Engineering, Amkodor OJSC was formed. The name has the following decoding - the first four letters indicate the initial letter of the name of the city where the Amkodor factories were located (Andropov, Minsk, Korosten, Orel). The last three letters are short for road cars.

After the collapse of the USSR, the name Amkodor went to a Belarusian enterprise.
